Project Overview
Where compassion became a calling
Some businesses begin with a market opportunity. Others begin with a deeply personal calling. For Kim's Care Supported Living Agency, it began with family, compassion, and a desire to make a difference.
As the youngest of six siblings, the founder witnessed firsthand the challenges families face when caring for loved ones with developmental disabilities. When one of her sisters needed help caring for two children with developmental disabilities, she consistently stepped forward—providing hands-on assistance, emotional support, and a dependable presence during difficult moments.
What began as an expression of love for her own family gradually revealed a greater need. She recognized that many other families were navigating similar responsibilities, often without the reliable support they needed.
She believed that compassionate care should extend beyond her immediate family and that individuals with developmental disabilities deserved opportunities to live with dignity, receive meaningful assistance, and participate in their communities.
That conviction became the foundation of Kim's Care Supported Living Agency, a Cincinnati-based organization providing personal care and community-based support.
Stackwell Studios partnered with the founder to translate that personal mission into an organized business, helping establish the strategy, regulatory preparation, operational documentation, brand identity, and technology needed to move forward.
What began as an act of love for her family became a mission to provide compassionate support to others.
The Business Vision & Challenge
Turning a meaningful mission into a functioning agency
The founder wanted to establish a professional supported-living agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her vision was to extend the same compassion and dependable assistance she had provided within her family to individuals and families throughout her community.
Bringing that vision to life required much more than establishing a business name or creating a website. The agency needed to navigate Ohio's provider-certification process, organize business registration and insurance requirements, prepare extensive operational documentation, establish employee policies and training resources, and understand applicable Medicaid-related enrollment and funding pathways.
It also needed a recognizable brand, professional digital presence, and integrated technology capable of supporting everyday business operations.
Stackwell Studios helped bring these interconnected requirements into one coordinated strategy, allowing the founder to approach the process with greater organization, clarity, and direction.
The Vision
To establish a compassionate supported-living agency that provides dependable personal care and community-based assistance while helping individuals with developmental disabilities maintain dignity, independence, and meaningful connections within their communities.
The Challenge
Transforming a personal calling into an operational service agency required navigating complex provider requirements, extensive documentation, employee preparation, business infrastructure, and technology implementation—all while coordinating the many steps necessary before serving clients.
Legal & Regulatory
Navigating the requirements behind a regulated service business
One of the most extensive parts of the Kim's Care engagement involved researching and preparing for Ohio's developmental-disabilities agency provider-certification process.
Stackwell Studios assisted with understanding the applicable requirements, preparing application materials, organizing supporting records, researching insurance and surety-bond considerations, and developing operational policies and procedures submitted for state review.
We also supported the agency's preparation for provider enrollment and funding-related processes associated with Ohio's Individual Options (IO), Level One, and SELF Medicaid waivers, as well as private-pay arrangements.
This work required coordinating multiple administrative activities, reviewing agency requirements, and helping the founder organize the steps necessary to establish her business within Ohio's developmental-disabilities provider system.
Our role was to support the business owner with regulatory research, documentation, application preparation, and implementation planning—not to act as the certifying authority.

Brand Identity & Digital Presence
Establishing a professional identity worthy of the mission
Kim's Care needed a professional, recognizable brand that communicated its commitment to compassionate service while establishing credibility within the community.
Stackwell Studios developed the agency's logo and visual brand identity, creating a cohesive foundation for its business presentation. We also developed brand guidelines to support consistency across its materials and digital communications.
With the brand established, we designed and developed a website that introduced the agency, communicated its services, and provided an accessible point of contact for prospective clients and families.
We also helped establish the business's digital infrastructure, including its website domain and professional business email.
Together, these components created a unified digital presence that supported the agency's identity, communication, and business operations.

Policies, Procedures & Employees
Building the operational foundation behind the agency
A supported-living agency needs more than a business registration and professional website. Its day-to-day operations depend on documented procedures, clear employee expectations, and organized administrative practices.
Stackwell Studios helped create the agency's policies and procedures, including materials required for review during the provider-certification process.
We also developed an employee handbook and employee training manual to help the founder establish consistent workplace expectations, communicate operational procedures, and prepare staff for their responsibilities.
These resources served two important purposes: supporting the agency's initial regulatory preparation and providing an ongoing reference for business operations and employee onboarding.
By organizing essential information into reusable documents, we helped establish a more structured foundation for managing employees and supporting service delivery.

Software & Technology
One connected platform. Built around the way the agency operates
Rather than requiring Kim's Care to manage its operations through multiple disconnected software products, Stackwell Studios developed a centralized business management platform tailored to the agency's daily operational needs.
The custom software brought essential administrative activities, client information, scheduling, employee resources, service documentation, online payments, and management reporting into one integrated environment.
This eliminated the need to rely on numerous separate accounts for core business functions and provided the owner with a more coordinated way to manage the organization.
The platform was designed around how Kim's Care actually operates, connecting public-facing business activities with the administrative tools needed behind the scenes.
From daily service documentation and employee schedules to business reporting and policy management, the system provided an integrated technology foundation for supporting ongoing agency operations.

Ongoing Business Strategy & Advisory
A technology and strategy partner beyond the initial launch
Our relationship with Kim's Care did not end after the agency's initial setup, website development, and technology implementation.
Recognizing the value of continued strategic support, the founder retained Stackwell Studios as an ongoing business strategy and planning partner.
Through this relationship, we have provided guidance on business operations, administrative processes, documentation requirements, and decisions affecting the agency's continued development.
Our work has also included helping prepare for state compliance reviews and audits, organizing supporting documentation, and assisting with regulatory-related administrative needs.
This ongoing partnership reflects an important part of the Stackwell Studios approach: providing clients with thoughtful strategic guidance and technology expertise as their businesses evolve, rather than treating every engagement as an isolated project.

Project Conclusion
When compassion, strategy, and technology come together
Kim's Care Supported Living Agency began with one woman's desire to extend the same compassion and support she had offered to her own family to others facing similar challenges.
Turning that vision into a business required careful planning, extensive documentation, regulatory preparation, a professional identity, and technology designed around the agency's daily needs.
Stackwell Studios helped bring those pieces together—from the initial business planning and provider-certification preparation to brand development, custom software, and ongoing strategic guidance.
Kim's Care represents the kind of comprehensive engagement that defines Stackwell Studios: understanding a founder's vision, identifying what the business needs, and helping create the practical foundation to bring that vision to life.
What began as one woman's compassion for her family became a business dedicated to extending that compassion to others.
You bring the idea. We build the door.
